Terri is the owner and a nurse practitioner at Westover Heights Clinic. Terri received her bachelor of arts degree from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri; her
master of science in education degree from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon; her registered nurse degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland; and her master of science degree as a nurse practitioner from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon. Terri has served as principal investigator or subinvestigator on more than 80 clinical trials evaluating various testing mechanisms for sexually transmitted infections, the efficacy of experimental vaccines, and pharmacologic interventions for numerous human infections. Her area of special expertise is herpes simplex virus. She is the author of several articles and books, including The Updated Herpes Handbook and Tender Talk. Her articles have been published in numerous journals including New England Journal of Medicne, Journal of the American Medical Association, Lancet, Journal of Infectious Disease, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and the Female Patient. She is the medical advisor for the Portland HELP group and the online advisor on the WebMD herpes message board. She also speaks nationally and internationally on the topic of genital herpes, the HPV vaccine, and the shingles vaccine.
