These Studies are Open for Enrollment

Please note that to participate in research studies at Westover Heights Clinic, you must reside in or near the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. There are a few exceptions to this rule, and if out-of-state enrollment is allowed in a particular study, it will be noted in the description. If you do not live in the Portland area, check www.centerwatch.com for studies near you.

The studies that we have open for enrollment  include:

Antigenics - a phase 1 trial of an experiemental therapeutic vaccine for genital herpes.  Participants much have HSV 2 genital infection. 

Investigational Medication for Recurrence of Genital Herpes  - a phase 2 trial to treat one outbreak of genital herpes

Constipation Study - for the treatment of constipation associated with taking medication 

People participate in research studies for any number of reasons - advance the general field of herpes knowlege, hope for improvement in their own disease situation, finanacial compensation and curiosity are all possibilities and are all legitimate reasons for participating.  We are seeking research subjects who plan to complete a study, once they start.  If people stop prematurely, it really isn't good for anyone involved.  

We welcome questions to the clinic about any study, and will be happy to go over details about studies with anyone who calls.
